Glow Wand MK8 was designed for marking, signaling, traffic control and as a landing zone marshalling wand. It is significantly more convenient and lighter weight than the typical D-cell flashlight wands often used for the same purpose. This lightweight and reusable Glow Wand is a viable alternate to the disposable chemical sticks. It can be switched ON and OFF and is ecologically safe.

CONTROLLING MILITARY AIRCRAFT ON AN ASSAULT LANDING ZONE at night can be difficult. Airlift support controllers on the ground must use illuminated marshalling wands to direct traffic and assure safe movement to prevent congestion and delays. A special Glow Wand Mk8 was designed especially for these military ramp directors. The Mk8 dual-ended wand may be selectively switched between visible red and infrared (IR). The dual-purpose wand allows operation in either a overt or covert landing zone environment.

The Glow Wand Mk8 was designed to prevent the ecological contamination often associated with chemical light disposal. The Mk8 is more economical and convenient than chemical lights, since it can be switched ON and OFF and has replaceable batteries. It is available in a double-ended version for two-color selection or for added brightness in special situations.
